As our name would suggest we here at The Doctor’s Orders treat the health and safety of all our guests and staff as our top priority.  With that in mind we wanted to update you on our approach regarding the Corona Virus.

We are closely monitoring the news and will follow any protocols that are provided by the UK Government and the World Health Organization. The Public Health England’s guidance is updated 2pm every day and available HERE
 
We are in close contact with all our venues to make sure that hand sanitiser will be available throughout and that extra care is being taken in cleaning etc to provide clean safe environments in which to party.  We encourage all of you to take extra care and see it clean!

Since 2005 The Doctor’s Orders have been throwing unpretentious parties for fans of real music that care more about feeling good than looking good. The first point of call for the biggest names in Hip-Hop and beyond The Doctor’s Orders have hosted a who’s who of the world’s best DJs & MCs in the finest venues throughout the UK.

The brainchild of Spin Doctor who promoted his first party, On The Good Foot @ The Annex, back in 2000, before launching the regular ‘Indelible’ later called ‘Indelibe Marker’ at The Key then Madame Jo Jo’s. The Doctor’s Orders was launched at the now legendary Herbal club in July 2005 with DJ Cash Money as the special guest creating the blueprint for parties focused on quality of guests, music, sound, service and atmosphere that has been followed ever since.

Where and when was your first DJ set? My first public and paid set was a house party for a friends older sister. It was a nightmare. They wanted 80’s pop and I had a box full of Boom Bap Hip-Hop

Who is you favourite MC? Jay-Z

Who is you favourite producer? J Dilla

What is your favourite album? A Tribe Called Quest – Midnight Marauders

 What is your favourite drink?   Tea

What is your favourite food?   Pizza

What is your favourite trainer?   I used to only wear Air Force 1s but now I’d say Air Max 1

What track would be your first dance at your wedding? Our first dance to The Supremes ‘I Hear a Symphony’. Our second song was Kanye’s ‘Gold Digger’

What track will you open your next set? I honestly could not tell you. I try and judge the vibe of the room at the time and go from there. 

If you were not in music what would you be doing? I have no idea. I always wanted to work in film or photography before I became a DJ.

What is the first thing you would save in a fire? My son and wife.

Do you collect anything other than music? Too many things. Kicks, toys, random music memorabilia and I have a sizable collection of pornographic record covers – long story.

Where and when was your first DJ set? Apart from House parties, my first paid gig was in a bar in Bath called Bar Karanga. I blagged the guy there that i was really good and would rock the spot. I was awful.

Where and when was your first DJ set?  Kitchen sound-system takeover at a mates house party 2004/5, blew amp, trashed records & if memory serves correctly, the house got KO’d. Amazing party!

What is your favourite album?  Marvin Gaye, What’s Going On. 

What is your favourite drink? Dark & Stormy w/ Goslings & Barritts. Bermuda’s finest & 50:50 ratios encouraged. 

What is your favourite food? Indian Food. Will DJ for Black Dahl. 

What is your favourite trainer?  Over the last 15 years, Stan Smiths are the only trainer i’ve kept coming back to. They win.

If you were not in music what would you be doing?  Still eating cake at the coffee shop.

What is the first thing you would save in a fire?  Time Machine HD. Without iCal i’d be a nobody.  

Do you collect anything other than music?  BMXs & Mopeds are also up there. On a ’06 Redline Cruiser & ’83 Honda Melody atm.

Where were you born? The West Country baby! Where the sun sets. 

What was the first album you bought?  Hmm. I can’t remember for sure but I think it may have been ‘A Hard Days Night’ by The Beatles when I was really young, because my mum used to bang on about how good they were.

What was your first job?  Sweeper-upper / broom technician.

Where and when was your first DJ set? Probably a lunchtime set at college or at a house party.

Who is you favourite MC?  Rakim for sure.

Who is you favourite producer?  Hip-Hopwise, either Paul C or DJ Premier.

What is your favourite album?  That’s way too hard. But off the top of my head one of my favourites is ‘Critical Beatdown’ by Ultramagnetic MCs or ‘Back to Wreck Shop’ by Tuff Crew. Or maybe Pete Rock & INI’s ‘Center of Attention’. Too hard though. 

What is your favourite drink?  Punk IPA or Irn Bru. The Scottish make the best drinks.

What is your favourite food?  Four cheese pizza is a winner. Or the Ghanaian food stall on Exmouth Market.

What is your favourite trainer?  Either Adidas Superstar or Vans Old Skool. 

What track would be your first dance at your wedding? ‘Get It’ by Run the Jewels.

What track will you open your next set?  It’ll be an 80s Hip-Hop tune as my next set is at the ‘History of Hip-Hop’ party. 

If you were not in music what would you be doing? Realistically I think carpentry, I had an interest in it when I was younger. Although if I could choose, a sitcom/comedy writer. 

Who would you like to punch in the face?  I’m a lover not a fighter. But if I was a fighter I sure would like to punch Piers Morgan. Also Donald Trump but I guess everyone’s gonna say that.

What is the first thing you would save in a fire?  Any loyalty cards I have laying around. I would hate to have to start them again.

What was the first album you bought?  I think it was one of those “Best Rap Album” compilations when I was a kid…. I started researching the artists after that and copping their albums.

What was your first job?  Office World, Colchester. I used to sell pens to people whilst hungover on a Saturday morning.

Where and when was your first DJ set?  My local youth club/under 18s night in Colchester.

Who is you favourite MC?  Biggie.

Who is you favourite producer? DJ Premier.

What is your favourite album?  Ready To Die.

What is your favourite drink?  Ginger beer.

What is the first thing you would save in a fire?  A fair select pairs of shoes, followed by the 7″ collection and my laptop.
