7th Birthday 7″...

For The Doctor’s Orders 7th Birthday Spin Doctor has done a live mix of seventeen 7’s to show the range of the best parties in London. Join us for the big celebration at East Village on Friday 13th July – GET DETAILS HERE Taking in Hip-Hop, Soul, R&B, original Breaks, Disco & more a great deal of thought went into the selection as Spin Doctor explains… “I kick off with Gangstarr who are often heard at our jams. I also had the honour of spinning GURU’s last ever UK show. EPMD is one of my favorite acts of all time and we’ve recently put them on live & had Eric Sermon DJ for us. Breaks are always a huge part of what we do so Joe Cocker’s ‘Woman To Woman’ had to get a spin as did Black Milk who we have put on more than any recently. The brilliant J-Rawls who is playing the birthday bash had to be represented as did ‘Runnin’ the Dilla production probably heard at every one of our parties. Our soul side is represented hard with the King of Pop, Jocelyn Brown and Levert as is Paul Simon who anyone that comes to enough of our events knows I try and slip into the mix wherever possible. I had to get some Beastie Boys in there not only in memory of the one and only MCA but also as they are the act that got me into Hip-Hop in the first place. We then finish up with the incredible ‘Love To The World’ by LTD, which is a solid favorite of both mine and our very own Mr Thing’s, and the brilliant ‘Lowdown’ by Boz Scaggs one of my all time top tunes. Hope you enjoy the mix...
